Every year Inc. ranks the country’s top 5,000 fastest growing private companies. For the 6th time, Heartland Dental has been named to that list. I’m so proud of this accomplishment! It’s mind-boggling to watch our “small” company out of Effingham, IL reach milestone after milestone.
Dentistry begins and ends with patient care. When patients have a great experience in a dental office, they complete the care they need, desire and deserve, and become lifetime patients. As long as patient care is the number one priority in a dental office, all other goals fall into place.
Every year, Heartland Dental presents a supported dentist with an award that recognizes him or her for their outstanding contributions to their patients and the dental industry as a whole. This award is known as the Eagle Award. For 2015, the Eagle Award was presented to Dr. Mark Kucharczyk of Linderhof Family Dental Care in Arnold, MO.
People talk, and when it comes to the topic of dental support organizations, people talk a lot. I’ve heard many misconceptions about what dental support organizations do and how we do it. I can see how the misunderstandings people have about DSOs could be of concern. However, that’s just it – they’re misunderstandings.
Myth 1: DSOs aren’t run by dentist.
I’m often asked where I came up with the idea for Heartland Dental. More or less, I was experiencing an issue that I knew many other dentists were also confronting. After spending 50 hours a week at the dental chair and an additional 25-30 hours on the business side of things, I was struggling to find a work-life balance and at this point work was tipping the scale. My solution would eventually become Heartland Dental, the largest dental support organization (DSO) in the nation.
Supporting dentist advancement has always been a key element of the Heartland Dental’s culture. For 2016 and beyond, we are supporting an initiative designed to help supported dentists truly achieve personal and professional expertise. This initiative is known as the Doctor Mastery Program.
